Avocado Farm Tour
Thursday, Nov. 29
1:00 – 5:00 PM
SOLD OUT

On the last day of the conference, ARA has arranged a special tour of Henry Avocado Corporation. Conference attendees will have the chance to learn more about a crop that many people rarely get to see in the field. The Henry family planted its first avocado trees over 85 years ago and have been continuously growing avocados ever since that time. They have been managing commercial avocado groves for other owners since the 1950s and also offer all-inclusive farm management and/or farming consultation depending on the grove owner’s requirements.  The avocado harvest will be complete, so tour participants will see the ripening, bagging and shipping processes for avocados and walk through a grove to learn more about how this unique crop is grown.

The tour will depart the ARA conference at 1:00, or immediately following lunch on Nov. 29. Participants will take about an hour bus drive to the farm. The tour will return to the Manchester Grand Hyatt at about 5:00 p.m. For more information about the farm, visit www.henryavocado.com.
