Colleen Scherer has held the managing editor position since 2000 when the magazine was titled Dealer & Applicator. Scherer began her career at Vance in 1994 writing and editing reports and articles about fruit and vegetable production and merchandising. She diversified her agricultural experience by working for a Kansas City public relations agency specializing in agriculture and writing for a snack food industry magazine. She returned to Vance as managing editor of The Grower magazine. Scherer holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Kansas.
