Michael Kennedy serves as the Public Policy Counsel at ARA, advocating on the behalf of agricultural retailers and distributors in Washington, D.C. He is responsible for ARA’s chemical security, labor and trade issues.
Kennedy has spent the several years in Washington D.C., as a congressional aide, an industry advocate and as an attorney. With more than eight years of legal expertise, he incorporates a legal prospective into a wide range of agricultural policy areas.
Before joining ARA, he managed the Society of Chemical Manufacturers and Affiliate’s (SOCMA) regulatory and legislative advocacy in the areas of security, science policy, regulatory enforcement and occupational safety and health.
In addition to SOCMA, he advocated regional transportation issues with the National Association of Regional Council and prosecuted child sex offenders for Galveston County District Attorney’s office (TX).
Kennedy received his Bachelor of Science degree, magna cum laude, from University of Delaware, and his Juris Doctorate in law from the Thurgood Marshall School of Law.
