ARA Joined Comments to DOT on Ag Supply Chain Transportation

Oct 18 2021

ARA signed on to comments with the Agricultural Transportation Working Group that were sent to the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) with recommendations to improve America's supply chain operations and resiliency.

ARA and the undersigned organizations offer recommendations related to labor, climate policy, transportation policy & infrastructure, container shipping, inland waterways, rail competition and service, and motor carrier freight transportation efficiency.

The comments conclude by stating the lack of access to labor is the most pressing issue to supply chain resiliency and encourages DOT to standardize the federal truck driving age limit with the state age to provide more access to the trucking industry for drivers aged 18 to 20.
