ARA and NGFA Sent Heat-Related Comments to OSHA

Jan 26 2022

ARA and the National Grain and Feed Association (NGFA) sent joint comments to the U.S. Department of Labor Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) in response to its Advance Notice of Proposed Rulemaking with opposition to a one-size fits all federal regulation for preventing heat-related illness among workers.

The comment letter states that "employers should be responsible or address heat hazards at individual facilities as climate varies from region to region and the health and underlying factors that contribute to heat stress vary by employee."

ARA and NGFA look forward to working with the NACOSH Work Group on Heat Injury and Illness Prevention to further modify existing outreach and educational programs in an effort to increase employer/employee participation in the Heat Illness Prevention campaign.
