ARA Position
- Support policies recognizing agribusinesses and farmers as essential workers.
- Support maintaining the retailer exemption under OSHA Process Safety Management (PSM).
- Support common-sense OSHA enforcement and dispute inconsistent interpretations.
- Support OSHA compliance programs in conjunction with ResponsibleAg, SHARP, and VPP.
- Support reasonable safety measures for ammonium nitrate and anhydrous ammonia, including updating OSHA standards 1910.109(i) and 1910.111.
- Support improvements to OSHA Alliance partnerships.
- Work with OSHA on future SDS requirements for blended fertilizers under GHS.
- Support comprehensive immigration reform, including a modernized, flexible H-2A program and a reliable verification system.
- Support policies that expand and sustain the rural workforce talent pool and job training.
- Oppose federal programs that discourage workforce participation.
