Oct 22 2026

GALESBURG, Ill. -- U.S. Representative Eric Sorensen (D-Ill.) recently toured West Central FS' facility in Galesburg, Illinois, as part of the Agricultural Retailers Association's (ARA) coordination of congressional facility visits for ARA members during congressional recess periods.

“So great to spend time at West Central FS and see all the incredible work being done to support farmers right here in Illinois’ 17th Congressional District,” said Congressman Eric Sorensen. “As a member of the House Agriculture Committee, I’m proud to work alongside groups like ARA and fight for the resources and support our growers and producers need and deserve. Thank you for all you do!”

"We appreciate the opportunity to host Congressman Sorensen and discuss our business and the needs of our farmer owners. We look forward to continued collaboration to promote agriculture and continue to feed and fuel the world,” commented Kirby Wagner, Director, Government Relations, GROWMARK and the FS System.

Congressman Sorensen visited the West Central FS Technology Learning Center. The FS Technology Learning Center provides an unbiased approach to testing seed, crop production, and nutrient management practices so West Central FS can help its teams and customers make informed, profitable decisions. West Central FS is a Member of the GROWMARK System and serves farmers and businesses across Fulton, Hancock, Henderson, Knox, McDonough, and Warren counties in Illinois and Lee County in Iowa.

“We thank Congressman Sorensen for visiting West Central FS and engaging with the crop input industry. When policymakers see our members’ work up close, it leads to more productive conversations about the issues that matter to Illinois agriculture," said Jenny Webb, President, Illinois Fertilizer & Chemical Association (IFCA).

“We appreciate House Ag Committee member Rep. Eric Sorensen taking the time to visit West Central FS and see ag retail up close,” said Hunter Carpenter, ARA Senior Director of Government Affairs. "ARA is proud to connect our members with their representatives in Congress and will continue our efforts to educate policymakers about our industry.”
