ARA Signs Letter Urging Congress Includes the DRIVE-Safe Act in Infrastructure Package

ARA joined the more than 115 organizations signing a letter to members of the U.S. House and Senate Committees urging they include the bipartisan DRIVE-Safe Act in any major infrastructure legislative package and/or in the surface transportation reauthorization bill.
ARA and the undersigned organizations say this will address the nation's growing truck driver shortage, which was made worse during the pandemic, by promoting opportunity and enhanced safety training for emerging members of the transportation workforce.
"It will help fill desperately-needed jobs and provide younger Americans with the opportunity to enter a profession with a median salary of $54,585, plus health and retirement benefits," the letter states.
