ARA Signed Coalition Letter to Senate Committee Urging Passage of Ocean Shipping Reform

ARA and more than 85 trade associations signed a letter to the Senate Commerce, Science and Transportation Committee voicing support for the bipartisan Ocean Shipping Reform Act of 2022 (OSRA22) and urging the Senate to act quickly to pass the bill and reconcile the differences with the House version.
ARA and the undersigned organizations believe the reforms included in OSRA22 will help address longstanding, systematic supply chain and port disruption issues which have been further exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic. Specifically, this legislation updates key provisions of the Shipping Act that haven't been updated in over two decades, and the maritime transportation system has changed significantly since then.
The letter will be submitted to the record for the Senate Committee executive session and hearing on March 3.
