Senate Passes Joint Resolutions Overturning California’s EV Mandate Waiver; Awaits President’s Signature
May 23 2025
The Agricultural Retailers Association (ARA) commends the Senate for its recent passage of joint resolutions of disapproval (H.J. Res. 87, H.J. Res. 88, H.J. Res. 89), which overturn the California electric vehicle mandate waiver approved by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
This outcome represents a victory for agricultural retailers, rural economies, and advocates of biofuels. The House passed these important congressional review act (CRA) joint resolutions of disapproval on April 30, 2025. The measures now await President Trump’s signature once they sent from the Senate.
