Dec 03 2025

SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH — The Agricultural Retailers Association (ARA) has recognized Dr. Ulrich (Bob) Trogele with the Jack Eberspacher Lifetime Achievement Award, celebrating a career marked by leadership, innovation, and steadfast support for agricultural retailers.

Trogele accepted ARA’s highest individual honor during the general session of the ARA Conference & Expo, where more than 600 ag professionals gathered to celebrate excellence in the industry.

“Bob has long exemplified the spirit of collaboration and strategic insight that strengthens our association,” said ARA President and CEO Daren Coppock. “His broad global perspective and deep understanding of agribusiness have guided ARA through critical moments. Beyond his business acumen, Bob’s mentorship and thoughtful leadership have inspired colleagues across the industry.”

Trogele’s involvement with ARA spans decades. He first joined the ARA Board as a representative of FMC and later served on the Executive Committee. Even after his retirement from AMVAC, where he served as an executive, Trogele continues to contribute to ARA’s success as a member of its Investment Committee. He now leads ProAgInvest, a venture capital firm focused on advancing agricultural innovation.

Respected worldwide for his analytical mind and vision, Trogele is known as both a mentor and a friend to many. His ability to quickly assess challenges and uncover opportunities has earned him a lasting reputation as a trusted advisor within the ag retail community.

The Jack Eberspacher Lifetime Achievement Award was established in 2001 and renamed in 2010 to honor the late Jack Eberspacher, ARA President & CEO from 2001 to 2009. The award recognizes individuals whose careers reflect exceptional dedication to ARA and the agricultural retail industry.

“I worked closely with Jack Eberspacher in the early days of rebuilding ARA, and this award holds deep personal meaning for me,” Trogele said. “Throughout my life, I’ve been fortunate to experience success in both business and athletics and to receive many honors, but this recognition stands apart. It’s not just an award; it’s a tribute to a shared vision and to the people who helped make ARA what it is today.”
