ARA 2026 Summer Intern

Hello, ARA Members! My name is Kailee Macy, and I am thrilled to introduce myself as the Agricultural Retailers Association (ARA) 2026 summer intern!  

I am originally from Culver, Oregon, where I grew up on my family’s irrigated specialty seed crop farm and my grandfather’s cattle ranch. These experiences have greatly shaped who I am and inspired my passion for the long-term success of the American agricultural industry.
 
I am currently a junior at Oklahoma State University (OSU) studying Agricultural Business and Agricultural Communications. During my time at OSU, I have been involved in the Student Government Association, held leadership roles in the Ferguson College of Agriculture, and the McKnight Scholars Leadership Program. These experiences have strengthened both my interest in and passion for agricultural policy and advocacy.

Last summer, I had the opportunity to serve as a legislative intern for a House Representative at Oregon’s state capital. I am excited to build on that experience by combining what I learned about the legislative process with the knowledge I will gain this summer about ARA’s policy work.  

I am enthusiastic to be in Washington, D.C., and to learn from ARA’s staff about the inner workings of an association. I also look forward to gaining a deeper understanding of the policy priorities that impact agricultural retailers.  

I look forward to connecting with many of you throughout the summer and truly appreciate your support. I am incredibly grateful for this opportunity and all that I will learn about ARA!
