ARA Welcomes Summer Intern

Hi everyone! My name is Macie Miller and I am excited and honored to be the 2023 summer intern here at ARA!
Growing up on a beef ranch in the rolling plains of Holliday, Texas, agriculture was laid as the foundation of my life and quickly turned into a passion. Currently I'm a senior at Texas Tech University majoring in Agricultural Communications and Pre-law. Upon completion of my undergraduate degree, I'm planning on attending law school to pursue a career in agricultural law and policy.
Throughout my undergraduate career, I've been fortunate to engage in a variety of opportunities and be involved in a multitude of organizations. Most of which, I believe, have shaped the trajectory of my life. However, the most impactful was serving as an ambassador for Agriculture Future of America (AFA). My involvement with this organization led to the introduction of ARA so it's safe to say I wouldn't be here without AFA.
Recently I served as a Congressional Intern in the United States House of Representatives. I'm excited to combine my knowledge from my previous experiences with everything I learn at ARA this summer and gain a deeper understanding of the agricultural policy process, as well as learn how to better support the members of the association and be their voice in DC!
I'm looking forward to learning and experiencing more of the retail side of the agricultural industry this summer, and all that the association has to offer!
